London Museum
A mixed media animation responding to the theme of Time & Movement, developed in collaboration with the London Museum. The project began with on-site research at Smithfield Market and the museum’s redevelopment site, using photography, sketching, and observation to inform the narrative.
My contribution focused on designing and producing a photorealistic 3D environment based on the museum’s basement, centred around a proposed viewing window into the London Underground. This space became the entry point for the animation, where a passing train was reimagined as a moving strip of 35mm film, creating a transition between 3D and 2D animation.
Working across modelling, materials, lighting, and rendering, I aimed to create an immersive and believable environment that could seamlessly connect with the group’s analogue and digital animation. The final outcome combines multiple visual languages into a cohesive and playful narrative, reflecting the layered histories, movement, and cultural identity of the Farringdon area.
