Who Are We?

A collaborative moving image project exploring the idea of community through shared creative experiences within Graphic Communication Design. The project focused on how individual practices can exist within a collective identity, using humour and honesty to reflect the realities of creative work.

Working in a mockumentary style, we filmed staged interviews alongside footage of our individual practices, capturing the tension between frustration and enjoyment that defines much of the design process. My contribution centred on developing a visual metaphor for this experience through a 3D animated “sand hand,” which collapses on impact to represent the fragility and impermanence of creative ideas.

The project combined live-action footage with experimental digital processes, including rotoscoping and rapid-cut editing, to shape narrative tone and pacing. Displayed as an immersive installation during open studio, the final outcome invited viewers to observe and reflect on the shared experiences that connect creative communities.
